Total Compensation Analyst
Summary
The Total Compensation Analyst is a specialist in compensation programs and administration. They will be a key member of the total compensation team in the design, development, implementation and communication of total compensation programs and processes. The Total Compensation Analyst will provide analytical and advisory support on total compensation best practices.
You Will:
- Conduct a job analysis and provide support to managers on the drafting of job descriptions for new and changed positions.
- Liaison with supervisors on accuracy of job content information and consistency of qualifications.
- Ensure job descriptions adhere to a set standard of quality and provides appropriate instruction, training and guidance to supervisors and/or incumbents where necessary. Provides support and recommendations to the hiring managers to ensure the job description translates effectively into the business needs.
- Maintain job related data and documentation (e.g. job codes, job descriptions, job evaluation results, and position titles), within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), spreadsheets, and other filing systems.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with Pay Equity requirements.
- Researches job description information, occupational classification information, salary market information, questionnaires, and pay equity and job evaluation reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Knowledge of job analysis, job description techniques, principles, and processes, compensation management, organizational effectiveness, labour relations, and human resources policies and best practices.
- Successfully completed a University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years progressive experience in a similar Total Compensation role with demonstrated understanding and application of compensation philosophies, practices and legislation.
- Attainment or in the process of attaining professional designation in compensation (CEBS, CCP or equivalent). Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is preferred.Familiarity with a unionized work environment is an asset.
- Knowledge and ability to comply with policies, procedures, legislation (e.g., pay equity, privacy, labour relations, employment standards), collective agreements, terms of reference and job evaluation plans.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel for data manipulation and analysis. Previous experience using software such as Adobe Acrobat, Banner, Crystal Reports, human resources information systems and electronic document management system.
- A valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence with no more than six demerit points required to travel within the Region to attend meetings.
- The ability to meet testing requirements of the position.

- Able to work independently to organize tasks and track dates, meet deadlines for job evaluation maintenance review dates, and to write new or update existing job descriptions.
- Able to meet police security clearance requirements and maintain confidentiality.
- Able to participate as an effective team member and to support and project values compatible with the organization.

2024 Salary Range: $$84, $99,342.68
The Service recently undertook a review and revision of its job evaluation tool. The position of Total Compensation Analyst had previously been assigned a tentative salary grade E on the previous salary grid, and accordingly will be subject to a final review under the revised job evaluation tool, which will result in the position being assigned a new grade on the revised salary grid
