PLEASE NOTE: This job has two locations. Candidates must be available to work at both locations in Cambridge or Kitchener.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

MINIMUM Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR Certification(s) REQUIRED.
  • Swimming and/or Instructing: 1-2 years Experience.
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Experience in the water teaching.
  • Must maintain ALL certifications throughout the length of employment.
  • Must complete ALL required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children.
  • Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

  • Support the Aquatics Leader/Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
  • Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
  • Maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high AND stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Enthusiastic personality with strong relationship and customer service skills.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and employees, bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching methods and procedures of British Swim School.
  • Able to multi-task in a changing environment with priorities in order.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
