Overview

User Experience Researcher - Winter 2026 Co-op at D2L. D2L is a cloud company modernizing education and the Future of Work. We seek an aspiring UX researcher to plan and conduct research on UX design projects that impact millions of users worldwide. The goal is to understand user problems, develop empathy, and help create a product that is easy, flexible, and smart. UX Research is part of the Product Design Team, collaborating closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Developers across our Technology, Engineering, and Design organization.

We invest in growth and learning, and co-ops are expected to engage deeply with the team and contribute to research throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the experimental design process
  • Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Product Managers
  • Facilitate moderated UX Research studies
  • Lead research operations efforts for studies (recruitment, tools, materials, etc.)
  • Assist with data analysis (qualitative & quantitative)
  • Communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Contribute to team meetings and help colleagues grow

What D2L is looking for

  • Completed at least 1 research methods course
  • Experience with research design and controlled data collection
  • Experience recruiting and testing participants
  • Experience working in a team
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Familiarity and interest in AI tools (ChatGPT, CoPilot, etc.)

Education

Currently a candidate for Bachelors degree or diploma in Psychology or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits

Weekly Salary Range: $850 — $1,350 CAD. The base salary is determined by knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience, aligned to market data for location and school-specific surveys.
