Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to work out of our customer’s downtown Calgary office. The Structural Engineer is responsible for detailed structural design development and engineering support throughout all project phases, including procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and final handover. This is a 12–18 month minimum term role, (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day).


Key Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience
  • Strong experience with heavy industrial pipe design for water systems
  • Experience with supported piping systems, including structural supports and hangers
  • Experience with underground piping systems
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software for industrial applications
  • Experience supporting fabrication, installation, and construction of structural systems in industrial facilities


Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Perform detailed structural engineering design activities to deliver high-quality, constructible design packages.
  • Develop and review structural deliverables including support systems, pipe racks, foundations, and related structures.
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, and operations teams to ensure design criteria and constructability requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project scope, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure structural designs are constructible in the field with minimal revisions.
  • Support the development of cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Comply with the Project Quality Management System and applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage design scope and support formal change management processes when required.
  • Ensure structural work is implemented in accordance with applicable safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.


Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA in Structural Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
