Overview of Role


Senior Fleet Engineer reports to the Sr. Manager, In Service Engineering. Responsibilities include research, planning, implementation, and support of technical changes to aircraft configuration and maintenance programs. Deliverables involve airworthiness directives, service bulletins, changes implementation, and compliance reporting.


Key Deliverables



  • Review, incorporate, and follow up on all Airframe Systems related Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins to ensure timely compliance.

  • Review up‑to‑date OEM service data for assigned areas to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and compliance.

  • Implement technical changes to aircraft configuration and maintenance programs following a standardized process.

  • Develop and issue engineering actions, drawings, and manual revisions for aircraft airframe and appliances.

  • Create procedures and specifications to extend aircraft and component useful life.

  • Investigate problems and proposed modifications, evaluate merits, and recommend solutions.

  • Attend industry meetings, stay current with operator and industry best practices.

  • Provide operational and technical support throughout the airline and coordinate regulatory compliance.

  • Support aircraft at heavy maintenance MRO and coordinate with repair service providers.

  • Assist the Technical Services group with vendor and OEM collaboration.

  • Support revisions and corrections to Maintenance Programs and manuals as regulatory requirements change.

  • Review structural damage, provide guidance, and develop repair proposals.


Experience & Qualifications



  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license (M or S) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 6 years in an airline maintenance environment.

  • Technical knowledge of Aircraft Systems.

  • Knowledge of Aircraft Structures and/or Interiors considered an asset.

  • Experience with Dash 8‑Q400 and/or Boeing 737; Boeing 787 is an asset.

  • Ability to understand and apply service, maintenance, engineering, and repair documentation.

  • Experience with technical change implementation to aircraft configuration.

  • Ability to create engineering controls and task cards within CMTS.

  • Experience with TRAX/eMRO is an asset.

  • Microsoft O365 fluency.

  • High interpersonal and communication proficiency.

  • Ability to work independently or in cross‑departmental teams.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage projects on tight schedules.

  • Proven planning, organization, and attention to detail.
