Position Title: Registered Counselling Therapist or Social Worker - MSW - Clinical Specialist

Location: Lifemark Physiotherapy Sackville Sports Stadium ( 409 Glendale Drive, Lower Sackville, NS, B4C 2T6 )
Status: Full Time and Part Time Hours available
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location type: Hybrid model w/ presence in Lower Sackville, NS required

The clinic

Our Lifemark Physiotherapy Sackville Sports Stadium clinic is bright, spacious, easy to access and located just inside the front doors of the Sackville Sports Stadium. We have a pool and full gym at our disposal for more complex and comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation planning.

We have a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing early and effective services. Services include physiotherapy, massage therapy, mental health services, and more, to assist with the treatment, management, and prevention of injuries.

About This Role

Your Day-to-Day

Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations such as Workers Compensation Board (WCB) and Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients' treatment plans and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
Delivery quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Document patient progress and treatment outcomes utilizing e-charting software.
Stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices and seek professional development.

Required Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists as a Registered Counselling Therapist or;
Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers as an MSW clinical specialist.
Minimum master's degree in a counselling-related field such as Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.

Extra Points in your application

Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
Training and experience with cognitive behavioral therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
Experience preparing assessment, progress, and discharge reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
