About The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining, and calibrating life support and other medical devices as well as maintaining medical computers and networks. The Biomedical Engineering Technologist also assists in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists, and other technical staff as well as performing safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Successful completion of a two-year course in Electronics Engineering Technology (accredited diploma) required.
Must be registered or eligible to be registered with TechNova as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) within two (2) years of hire.
Must have access to reliable transportation, as travel to multiple sites within central zone is required with this position.
Must have working knowledge/training of electronics with the ability to understand the operation and have manual skills required to repair, calibrate, perform safety, performance routine inspections on electronic, electrical, mechanical, and optical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments.
Specialized training in advanced biomedical equipment such as Anesthesia and Respiratory would be an asset.
Training on various OR technology and laboratory equipment would be an asset.
Knowledge of networking medical devices would be an asset.
Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Certification as a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(C)) with the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists and Technicians would be an asset.
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

$ $47.16 Hourly
