Who We Are
Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac Des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
In operation for 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two known pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emission from gas- powered and hybrid vehicles.
The LDI Mine features a unique, ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and milling opeartions. The LDI MIne is in Robinson-Superior Treay territory, and the land on which we operate is hte traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Metis. As a responsible neighbour in the Thunder Bay region, Impala Canada actively partners with local organizations, programs and events forcused on heatlhcare, education and community development to help enhance the quality of life for all.
Job Description
This individual is responsible for operating rock breakers, and service type vehicles like forkllifts, small scoops , boom truck and U/G fuel truck
They must demonstrate the skills to operate and maintain rock breakers, control muck flow, load, transport, unload, supplies and explosives and perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.Other dutes may include providing fuel and lube to the U/G heavy equipment and maintaining refuge stations , fuel bays. May also require sharpening bits, ordering supplies and making signage for the mine.
All tasks must be completed following company procedures, government regulations and manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
Employees must complete Miner 4 Skill Set Modules and demonstrate a basic competence in the qualifcations and capabilities required.
Underground or Industrial experience will be considered an asset.
Attitude to work in a safe and productive manner
Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Housekeeping and quality, pride in workmanship
Some Soecialty Module Training requires pre-requisite modules that might not be listd. MTCU guidelines will be followed

The position offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of hourly wage;$39.56, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan and travel allowance. Meals are provided while at the mine site.
