Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking two Full-Time Mechanical Engineers (P.Eng.) to work out of our customer’s downtown Calgary office. These roles will provide detailed mechanical design development and engineering support throughout all project phases, including procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and final handover.
Positions Available: 2 (Static Equipment SME & Rotating Equipment SME)
Position Type: This is a 12–18 month minimum term role, (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day).
Key Experience (Select One Specialty)
1) Boilers & Static Equipment SME (1 Position)
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Strong experience with large industrial boilers
- Experience with static equipment including:
- Heat exchangers
- Condensers
- Deaerators
- Experience supporting specification, sizing, selection, and design of static equipment
- Experience supporting fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Strong experience with large rotating equipment, including:
- Vertical turbine pumps
- Horizontal pumps
- Boiler feedwater pumps
- Experience with equipment specification, sizing, selection, and vendor evaluation
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning, and start-up of rotating equipment
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Perform detailed mechanical engineering activities to deliver required designs.
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the assigned specialty area.
- Develop and review mechanical design deliverables, calculations, specifications, and data sheets.
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations, vendor drawing reviews, and technical clarifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and project teams to meet business requirements, cost, and schedule targets.
- Ensure designs are constructible, operable, and maintainable with minimal field revisions.
- Support the development of cost estimates and project schedules and ensure adherence to approved budgets and timelines.
- Comply with the Project Quality Management System.
- Manage scope and support formal change management processes when changes are required.
- Ensure mechanical work is implemented in accordance with applicable safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work with urgency and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
