We strive to have employees that are multi-faceted and versatile with a variety of skills.<br><br>We currently have an opening for a fulltime <strong>Intermediate / Senior</strong> <strong>Water Resources Engineer with expertise in Dams</strong> in Eastern Canada. The successful candidate may be based in one of our existing office locations across Atlantic Canada and Ontario or may work remotely if located elsewhere.<br><br><strong>Educational & Experience Requirements:</strong><br /></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in civil or water resources engineering; a Masters or Doctorate degree is considered an asset.</li></ul><ul><li>Registration or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) by a provincial association in Eastern Canada.</li></ul><ul><li>5+ years of relevant experience for Intermediate level, or 10+ years of relevant experience for Senior level.</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in dam engineering, including design, analysis, and regulatory compliance.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with Dam Safety Reviews and Flood Studies, including hydrologic assessments, dam break analysis, consequence assessments, and inundation mapping.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and dam safety frameworks including the CDA Guidelines.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency with industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software programs (e.g., HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS), and design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS packages.</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills (English).</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to manage tasks or projects independently and collaboratively.</li></ul><ul><li>Valid drivers license and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits<br /></li></ul><p><strong>Main Duties:<br /></strong></p><ul><li>Lead and/or support the design, analysis, and rehabilitation of dams and hydraulic structures (e.g., spillways, intakes, outlets, channels)</li></ul><ul><li>Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS) for dam safety reviews and flood studies.</li></ul><ul><li>Contribute to or lead Dam Safety Reviews, hazard classification assessments, and consequence analyses.</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare technical reports and inundation maps, and contribute to preparation of design drawings and specifications.</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.</li></ul><ul><li>Mentor junior engineers and participate in internal knowledge-sharing.</li></ul><ul><li>Support proposal preparation and contribute to business development efforts, depending on experience level.</li></ul><p><strong>Position:</strong><br /></p><ul><li>Full time salaried position.</li></ul><ul><li>Position will be located in Eastern Canada.<br /></li></ul><ul><li>Must have a valid drivers license.<br /></li></ul><p>Interested individuals, click here to apply: <span >https://gemtec.bamboohr.com/careers/221</span><br><br></p><p>Thank you for taking the time to consider GEMTEC.
