We're looking for a Contaminated Sites Professional to join our growing team. We are open to filling this position in St. Johns, NL office.</p><p><br /></p><p>At GEMTEC, we offer something different. Specific experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.</li><li>The ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and the willingness to work overtime, as required.</li></ul><p></p><p>A typical day on the job might look like:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Providing leadership and mentorship of junior and intermediate environmental professionals and staff.</li><li>Providing consulting services in the field of contaminated sites management for government and private industry clients.</li><li>Providing technical support to a wide variety of environmental projects, including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data analysis, and technical report writing and proposal preparation.</li><li>Data compilation and interpretation, including water quality results, hydraulic response testing data analysis, water balance assessments, water take/dewatering estimation, and impact assessment analysis.</li><li>Interpretation and application of municipal by-laws, provincial and federal acts and regulations.</li><li>Senior review of technical documents as a Professional <span >Engineer/Professional</span> Geoscientist.</li><li>Business development in support of growth of the contaminated sites and environmental practices.</li><li>Managing client needs and client communication for a given project.</li><li>Project management and budget development and management.</li><li>Adhering to all company policies.</li><li>Performing other duties as required.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>The good stuff you get:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Full time salaried position.</li><li>Fair pay plus extra: competitive salary with year-end profit-sharing bonus</li><li>Complete health & dental coverage including vision, paramedical services, and Teladoc</li><li>Retirement planning made easier with a 5% employer match on your contributions</li><li>Paid time off (vacation and sick days) plus Employee & Family Assistance Program when you need it</li><li>Office year-end closure (paid time off between Christmas and the New Year)</li></ul><p></p><p>Your background and what you bring: </p><p><br /></p><ul><li>A bachelors degree in engineering or geoscience from an accredited institution, or a bachelors degree in earth science or environmental science. A post-graduate degree is considered an asset.</li><li>Professional license in NL (i.e., P.Geo. or P.Eng.), or sufficient experience as an environmental scientist in contaminated sites to qualify as a Registered Site Professional.</li><li>Current registration, or the eligibility to be registered as a Site Professional with the Impacted Sites Management Section (ISMS) of Newfoundland and Labrador Environment and Climate Change.</li><li>Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in consulting is considered an asset.</li><li>A thorough knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal regulatory frameworks for groundwater withdrawal/use, drinking water supply, contaminated sites assessment and management, and environmental assessment is required.</li><li>Groundwater flow and transport modeling experience is an asset.</li><li>Numerical and advanced hydraulic testing experience is an asset.</li><li>Senior project management and people management skills are required.</li><li>A valid drivers license</li></ul><p></p><p>Interested individuals, click here to apply: <span >https://gemtec.bamboohr.com/careers/215</span></p><p><br /></p><p>Thank you for taking the time to consider GEMTEC.
