Estimator - New Builds & Renovations
Location: Calgary, AB
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 + benefits & RRSP
We're seeking a detail-focused Estimator with experience in both new builds and renovations to support our residential/commercial projects in Calgary. You'll own the costing process from early budgets through to final tender, helping the team win profitable work while controlling risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and renovation projects (labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors)
- Review drawings, specs, and addendums to confirm scope and identify gaps, risks, and value-engineering options
- Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes; prepare clear, competitive bid submissions
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Site teams to refine budgets, track costs, and improve unit rates over time
- Maintain accurate historical cost data and pricing libraries for future bids
What You Bring
- 3-5+ years of estimating experience in construction (new build + renovation mix preferred)
- Strong knowledge of building methods, trades, and Calgary market pricing
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with estimating software and Excel; strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Clear, professional communication with internal teams, clients, and trades
