Our member, Go Power Group is an electrical company servicing Ottawa, ON, looking for a skilled 309A Electrical Apprentice to work in commercial locations.

Job Description:

  • Installation of emt, rigid steel, aluminum and pvc conduit systems, bending, terminating, installing on concrete, racking and other surfaces along with associated boxes, panelboards and switchgear for power, communications, security, fire alarm and other like systems.
  • Installation of wires and cables inside of conduit systems as well as fastening cables to various surfaces.
  • Installation of various types of power outlets and receptacles, lighting fixtures and lighting control equipment.
  • Building of racking systems and mounting assemblies for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Termination of wiring in distribution and branch circuits in panelboards, control assemblies, splitters, transformers, rectifiers and like equipment.
  • Use of PPE that is universal as well as specialized to the electrical trade.
  • Use of equipment to aid in carrying out the work such as power driven lifts, carts, ladders, forklifts, pallet jacks and like equipment.
  • Good workmanship carried out in a safe manner with attention to efficiency, cleanliness and cooperation with the team.
Education:
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • College Diploma (not required, but an asset)
  • Completion of a pre-apprenticeship program (not required but an asset)
Preferred Certification/Licenses:
  • WHMIS
  • Working at Heights
  • 4 Step Worker Awareness
Additional requirements:
  • Own vehicle
  • Valid G class driver’s license with a clean record
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
