Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, excellent mechanical knowledge, and experience working with various schematics and have their own tools. This position offers the opportunity to work in a professional, busy, clean shop located on the beautiful North Shore. Every weekend is a long weekend We work hour days, closed on Fridays. We also offer ongoing training. Please do not apply if you do not have at least 3rd year apprentice training in Automotive Service
Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle issues using mechanical knowledge, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow manufacturer specifications and safety protocols during all repair procedures
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues
- Assist with vehicle assembly and parts replacement as needed
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move parts or equipment safely
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic. Minimum 3rd year apprentice.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and assembly processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Certification from an accredited automotive program or relevant mechanic experience is mandatory
- Must have your own tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
