Advanced Rehabilitation Therapist
Job Description
As part of the interdisciplinary fee-for-service program, "ABI Community Services", the Advanced Rehabilitation Therapist develops, teaches and evaluates the comprehensive community based rehabilitation programs to clients with ABI. As a primary function, the Advanced Rehabilitation Therapist will liaise and collaborate between the program, funding bodies, case managers, physicians, etc. Hours are generally days but will require some flexibility and may include some evening and weekend scheduling. As the program is community based an allergy-free environment cannot be guaranteed.
1. Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Psychology, Behavioural Analysis or other rehabilitation/health related field of study
2. Minimum of 5 years recent experience and demonstrated expertise in brain injury rehabilitation, behaviour therapy and adult learning principles
3. Skills in marketing, public relations and an understanding of business operations
4. Knowledge of community agencies, resources and funding sources
5. Knowledge of current automobile insurance legislation, legal and funding issues
6. Proven skills in communication and problem solving
7. Flexibility in work schedule to meet care needs of staff and clients
8. Demonstrated excellence in the facilitation of teamwork
9 Evidence of commitment to continuous education
10. Demonstrated ability to initiate and model positive change
11. Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
12. Membership in a professional College/Association preferred
