Welder/ Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/ Assembler to join our Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group in Moncton, NB. This is a part-time position supporting both welding and assembly operations in a dynamic, quality-driven aerospace environment.The successful candidate will perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless-steel components while also assembling, fitting, installing, and fastening prefabricated parts and hardware to produce finished aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities
Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless-steel components to aerospace standards (training provided as required)
Position and clamp fabricated metal components in preparation for welding
Grind and finish welded assemblies to meet quality requirements
Rivet, drill, and countersink components and hardware
Perform bearing staking and bushing installation
Apply adhesives and sealants in accordance with customer specifications
Read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, specifications, and internal process routing sheets
Perform deburring, sealing, and paint/primer touch-ups
Accurately document work completed in accordance with work travelers
Gather required hardware, tools, and materials for assigned tasks
Maintain welding supply inventory
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including adherence to 5S practices
Coordinate work as directed by the Supervisor to meet production schedules
Support other operational requirements as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Strong mechanical aptitude
Working knowledge of hand tools (hammer, drill, tape measure, caliper, grinder)
Welding experience (aluminum and/or stainless steel preferred; TIG welding considered an asset)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to support multiple departments
Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements considered an asset
Assets
Experience in aerospace welding and/or assembly
Working knowledge of assembly equipment (air riveter, impact gun, arbor/hydraulic press, grinder, clecos)
Previous experience working to aerospace specifications
Continuous improvement mindset
