This position prepares and serves high quality meals & nourishments for clients and guests of the community.<br /><em>Job responsibilities:</em></p><ul><li>Under the direction of the Chef, the Line Cook prepares food items including soups, sauces, salads, starches, meats, fish, poultry, vegetables & desserts by methods/procedures including roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling, baking, and bulk re-thermalization.</li><li>Tests food items for palatability and temperature & adjusts accordingly.</li><li>Meets high quality service standards for all food preparation, production, presentation & control.</li><li>Prepares service of catered and special event menu plans to ensure individual food service needs and standards for food service are met or exceeded.</li><li>Responsible for opening and closing duties of the kitchen, including cleaning duties within the kitchen area.</li><li>Uses a creative and innovative approach in plating food and nourishments while following set recipes. Serves a variety of attractive and appetizing food to tenants and guests of the community.</li><li>Assists with food service quality improvement activities, including evaluation of food preparation & service standards.</li><li>Ensures quality of and timeliness of food preparation and delivery to tenants and guests of the community while operating with a high level of customer service at all times.</li><li>Interacts with all front and back of house staff in an efficient, courteous, respectful, and friendly manner to fulfill food orders quickly and professionally.</li><li>Ensures food and stores are prepared and maintained in accordance with all food safety and accepted kitchen standards.</li><li>Assists the Chef with inventory and notifies the Chef in advance of likely shortages.</li><li>Ensures kitchen environment is in a safe and sanitary condition at all times by washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.</li><li>Keep kitchen workstations clean, maintained, and clear of any obstructions.</li><li>Hold high standards for cleanliness, food production quality, and personal hygiene.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Certification Requirements</strong><ul><li>At least 2 years of recent kitchen experience or equivalent combination of education, training & experience may be considered.</li><li>Food Safe - Level I and WHMIS Certificates required.</li></ul><br />Closing Date: September 25, 2025</p><p>Powered by JazzHR</p><p>xjfkkbUqQH</p></p></p>
