<p>ZeroAvia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Safety Engineer to support our system safety assessments for our engine type certification applications and permit-to-fly test aircraft approvals from aviation regulators.</p><p>ZeroAvia is at the forefront of a new clean aviation ecosystem, and the successful candidate will be joining a world-class team that is passionate about designing and delivering solutions that are not just carbon-emission free but also cost-effective.</p><p><strong>Main Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>Working within the System Safety Team as part of a UK CAA Part 21J Design Organisation, the Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for;</p><ul><li>Conducting Qualitative and Quantitative Safety Analyses at System and Aircraft Level based on the ARP4761A standard (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FTA, FMECA, CMA, PRA, ZSA etc.)</li><li>Generating safety requirements for the system and sub-system design teams and working collaboratively to ensure compliance.</li><li>Creating reasoned safety arguments for complex and novel systems and communicating these to relevant stakeholders.</li><li>Supporting familiarisation and panel reviews with the UK CAA and other regulatory authorities.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Experience/Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>At least 5 years of practical experience in a similar role.</li><li>Aeronautical engineering degree or equivalent experience in aerospace industry.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Aircraft / System Safety Assessment following ARP4761A (or an equivalent standard) including FHA, FTA, FMEA, CMA etc.</li><li>Awareness of commercial aerospace certification regulations for aircraft and/or engines; e.g. Part 23/ CS-23, Part 33/ CS-E, etc.</li><li>Good working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and ALARP justifications.</li></ul><p><strong>Other Beneficial Experience/Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of safety assurance techniques for new safety critical products / components.</li><li>Experience with writing and managing system requirements.</li><li>Knowledge of systems development following ARP4754 (or equivalent standard).</li><li>Knowledge of Reliability prediction techniques e.g., MIL-HBK-217F.</li><li>Knowledge of Software Certification to DO-178C or Hardware Certification to DO-254.</li><li>Previous approval as Part 21J Compliance Verification Engineer for Systems Safety.</li><li>General experience of working within a Part21J Design Organisation environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>We want to help you be your best self, at work and at home, that’s why we provide our employees with…</p><ul><li><strong>Private health and dental care </strong>– get access to services and support when you need them.
