Position: Structural Engineer

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan


Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Structural Engineer and play a key role in supporting the structural integrity and reliability of our operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to critical inspections and repair plans, and ensure our facilities meet the highest safety and engineering standards. This is a 1-year contract, with potential to extend.


This role is based on-site 12km outside of Saskatoon, SK. The schedule is 7am-4pm on a 9/80 schedule (Monday-Thursday one week, Monday-Friday the next week. On the short week, the Thursday is 7am-3pm).


Responsibilities

  • Write technical scopes of work and create work packages for structural deficiencies
  • Coordinate repair plans for structural deficiencies
  • Conduct structural inspections, review and report findings
  • Provide support to Tradespeople, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, Operations and
  • Projects teams for structural integrity related matters
  • Ensure structural designs and installations meet codes & standards, applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain compliance with Corporate Structural Integrity Guidance Documents


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer Designation OR Engineer-in-Training with 3+ years of experience
  • Note: Stamping of engineering designs is not required in this role
  • Strong safety commitment and safety leadership
  • Ability to effectively communicate, written and oral, with a variety of stakeholders -
  • internal and external
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, Computer Aided Structural Analysis & Design
  • software such as Staad Pro or SAP2000 (or similar software) is required
  • Experience with 3D Modeling and Design Software is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a potash mine or oil & gas or industrial setting is considered an asset
