Job Summary

The Shift Stationary Engineer is responsible for ensuring Client facilities operate efficiently and reliably while maintaining full compliance with all applicable codes, safety standards, and cGMP regulations. This role plays a critical part in reducing or eliminating unscheduled production shutdowns by providing effective maintenance and troubleshooting across industrial processes and research equipment.


The ideal candidate will perform maintenance with a strong focus on quality and safety, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and contributing to optimal equipment performance and reliability.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform corrective and predictive maintenance on industrial process and research equipment within a production environment.
  2. Troubleshoot and perform diagnostic repairs on equipment and systems.
  3. Manage operations for all utility services, including the purified water system and tank farm, while maintaining logs required for power boiler permits.
  4. Provide rapid, innovative solutions to resolve equipment and process malfunctions.
  5. Perform calibration and maintenance tasks on equipment and utilities; log completion in the Blue Mountain maintenance software.
  6. Assist in the commissioning and qualification of new equipment and utility systems.
  7. Write and revise preventive maintenance documentation for equipment and utility systems.
  8. Ensure all work adheres to Client  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health and Safety Policy, and applicable regulations.
  9. Work rotating shifts and remain on-call as required.
  10. Promote and ensure a safe work environment for all employees and contractors.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor based on operational needs.


Required Qualifications

Education:

  1. Forth Class Stationary Engineer's License required.
  2. Diploma in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent is considered an asset.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemical manufacturing facility involving the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex building and utility systems.


Skills:

  1. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on equipment maintenance.
  2. Familiarity with cGMP environments and regulatory compliance.
  3. Proficiency in maintenance management systems (e.g., Blue Mountain).
  4. Strong administrative and computer skills for documentation and reporting.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Additional experience in commissioning and qualification of process and utility equipment.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of preventive maintenance planning and documentation.
  3. Previous work in a highly regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.

Certifications

  1. Forth Class Stationary Engineer’s License (Required).
