Job Description

Working with one of the top financial clients, this role calls for a SQL Database Admin (Migration & Azure) who will administer, maintain, and optimize MS SQL databases (on-premises and Azure SQL/MI). This candidate will lead and execute database migration projects, including on-prem to Azure and Oracle to Azure migrations.

Responsibilities

• Champion performance tuning and troubleshooting to ensure optimal database performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust database solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on database support and best practices.
• Work with ServiceNow for incident and change ticket management.
• Participate in Agile methodology and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
• Deliver excellent customer support and foster strong collaboration within the team.

Desired Skill Set

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL (on-premises)
• 3+ years of experience with Azure SQL and Managed Instances
• 3+ years of expertise in database migrations (on-prem to Azure, Oracle to Azure)
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, Azure components, and cloud best practices.
• Excellent performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.

• Banking experience
