Strategic audit opportunity in the insurance industry supporting risk, compliance, and governance. Leverage your internal and external audit experience in a hybrid role based in Toronto or Waterloo. <b>Responsibilities: </b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• Support planning and execution of audits and advisory projects in alignment with departmental standards, timelines, and resource budgets.<br>
<br>• Understand operational and financial risks within business units and develop audit scopes to evaluate existing controls.<br>
<br>• Prepare, execute, and review test procedures to evaluate control effectiveness and ensure proper documentation.<br>
<br>• Conduct fieldwork and testing activities in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.<br>
<br>• Draft well-structured audit reports, including executive summaries and risk ratings.<br>
<br>• Lead and participate in SOX planning, walkthroughs, and testing phases.<br>
<br>• Apply analytical and critical thinking to enhance audit methodology.<br>
<br>• Embrace data analytics and innovative approaches to broaden audit coverage.<br>
<br>• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across diverse teams and cultures.<br>
<br>• Be flexible in taking on complex audit tasks as assigned by senior management.<br>

<b>What you will need to succeed:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• A university degree is required.<br>
<br>• A recognized accounting (CPA, CA) or auditing (CIA, CISA) designation is preferred but not mandatory with sufficient relevant experience.<br>
<br>• 4+ years of experience in audit, risk management, or advisory/consulting roles.<br>
<br>• Familiarity with audit standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices<br>
<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills.<br>
<br>• Ability to clearly articulate recommendations and actively listen to others.<br>
<br>• Experience working in culturally and professionally diverse environments.<br>
<br>• Knowledge of data analysis tools is an asset.<br>
