Senior Power Electronics Engineer

We are looking for a 
Senior Power Electronics Engineer

to lead the design and development of high-performance DC power systems for our Class 4 (Fault Managed Power) products.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Power Electronics Design

  • Lead the design, development, implementation and integration of power delivery, protection, and conversion circuits (DC/DC, AC/DC ) up to 1KV and
  • Define architectures for efficient, safe, and reliable high-power DC distribution.
  • Conduct simulations (SPICE, or equivalent) to validate designs before prototyping.
  • Perform component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout design and reviews.

2) System Integration & Testing

  • Drive prototyping, bring-up, and validation of new hardware.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement design improvements for efficiency, EMI/EMC, cost optimization, and thermal performance.
  • Collaborate with RF, firmware, mechanical and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration across subsystems.
  • Support long-distance cable performance optimization.

3) Standards & Compliance

  • Design to meet safety and performance standards and support interactions with regulatory bodies such as UL, FCC, CE.
  • Conduct and document reliability analyses (e.g., FMEA, thermal analysis, failure rate estimation).
  • Support certification and testing activities with third-party labs.

4) Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure best practices in power electronics engineering.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align power system design with project milestones.

Qualifications

1) Education & Experience

  • Master's degree or Ph. D in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in power electronics design and hardware development.
  • Proven track record in designing, building, and testing with focus on power electronics.
  • Experience with wide-bandgap solid state devices (GaN, SiC) is a strong plus.

2) Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in circuit simulation, schematic capture, and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Spice).
  • Strong background in magnetics design, thermal management, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Familiarity with reliability and safety standards (UL, IEC) and functional safety practices.
  • Ability to conduct detailed hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and thermal imaging tools
