Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Cloud-Native Systems

Location: 100% Remote, Canada
Experience: 10+ Years
Rate: $70 to $80 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Cloud-Native Systems, to design and scale enterprise-grade cloud solutions powering modern water management workflows. This role drives backend architecture and distributed systems design while maintaining ownership of high-quality user-facing applications. The selected candidate will operate at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, scalable data systems, and full-stack product engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and execute scalable, cloud-native backend services on AWS using containerized and serverless patterns
• Design and implement distributed systems capable of handling high-volume and high-frequency data processing
• Lead complex ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration using modern methodologies
• Develop production-grade, testable, and maintainable code aligned with enterprise engineering standards
• Drive architectural decisions and function as technical lead on selected engineering initiatives
• Execute React-based user interface development using modern web tooling
• Conduct design reviews and code reviews to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver product-based workflows in water management systems

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with strong system architecture exposure
• Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native services, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
• Strong backend engineering experience building production systems on AWS
• 3+ years of experience developing modern front-end applications using React
• Experience working with NodeJS in full-stack environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with AWS IoT services
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Exposure to machine learning concepts
• Experience working with containerized workloads
