Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting - 4 Months Employment Type Contract Location TORONTO, Ontario Apply SHARE THIS JOB Job Description: Our client, is a major national retailer looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for their Inventory Accounting team to join them on a 4 month contract. The role is hybrid with in office 4 days a week in office located at Yonge and Eglinton and 1 day work from home.Reporting to the Manager, Inventory Accounting the Senior Financial Analyst will be an essential part of the Accounting team. Key Responsibilities Include:
Prepare and review significant analyses, entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting process for enterprise inventory, shrink, freight costs, vendor funds, transportation and obsolescence provisions
Ensure financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis
Investigate and analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends and present findings to Senior Financial Analyst and Manager
Looking at Cost of Goods Sold and how it impacts the Balance Sheet
Analyze the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls
Understand and execute accounting and reporting models and processes
Effectively communicate and build relationships with business partners, accounting and internal and external auditors
Execute and maintain documentation controls TMGCT Job Requirements: Must Have:
CPA designation or working towards designation
Minimum of 5+ year experience in Accounting or Finance
Retail industry experience is a strong asset
Working knowledge of IFRS
Familiarity with internal and external audit processes is a strong asset
Advanced level Excel skills
Large ERP system experience, Oracle People Soft and Hyperion (HFM) are an asset
Detail oriented with strong diagnostics and analytical skills
Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the ”big picture” in a complex business environment and a natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships Apply
