With the addition of the Blue Grouse Gondola in 2024, we now have the capacity to host high-volume events and additional festivals. As we approach our centennial next year, this milestone presents an exciting opportunity to elevate our event offerings, significantly boosting both revenue and traffic to Grouse Mountain. We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual who thrives on conceptualizing and executing high-quality, large-scale events.</p><h3>Essential Job Functions</h3><ol><li>Strategic Event Visioning & Planning: Architect a comprehensive, multi-year event strategy for Grouse Mountain, launching with the 2026 Centennial Celebration. Leverage market trends and guest insights to design event experiences that drive long-term revenue growth, increase general admission traffic, and enhance brand equity.</li><li>Budget Leadership & Financial Stewardship: Lead the strategic planning, oversight, and optimization of the events budget. Ensure disciplined financial management, ROI-driven decision-making, and reallocation of resources based on performance analytics and evolving priorities.</li><li>Performance Analysis & Executive Reporting: Develop and implement rigorous post-event evaluation frameworks. Deliver data-rich post-event updates and strategic insights to senior leadership, with clear recommendations for future initiatives.</li><li>Enterprise Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Champion proactive internal communications to ensure alignment across departments. Coordinate operational readiness for all events and foster seamless execution across relevant functions.</li><li>Partnership Development & Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate relationships with vendors, sponsors and strategic partners. Negotiate agreements and sponsorships that amplify event reach and contribute to revenue and brand goals.</li><li>Integrated Marketing Collaboration: Serve as strategic liaison to Marketing and Communications. Co-develop integrated campaigns to maximize visibility, drive attendance, and extend the lifecycle of events across digital, social, and traditional channels.</li><li>Signature & Seasonal Events Portfolio Oversight: Provide strategic direction for key events such as Seek the Peak, Multi-Grind, Grouse Grind Mountain Run, Peak of Christmas, Easter, Bearthday Party, and others. Evaluate the event mix annually to ensure alignment with brand and business priorities.</li></ol><h3>Supervisory Responsibilities</h3><p>This position provides direct supervision to the Events Specialist.</p><h3>Required Qualifications and Abilities</h3><ul><li>Post-secondary education in marketing, business or a related field</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in event management or a related role, with a proven track record of executing large-scale events</li><li>Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team</li><li>Exceptional project management and financial acumen</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to manage multiple events simultaneously</li><li>Strong budget management and financial acumen</li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with diverse teams</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards in fast-paced environments</li><li>Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and deliver innovative event experiences</li><li>Experience working with vendors, sponsors and partners to drive event success</li></ul><h3>Working Conditions</h3><p>Due to the nature of events, this position requires flexibility in terms of work schedule.
