Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Engineering Services Manager, this position is responsible for developing and managing the operational record drawings of the Saskatoon Water Treatment Plant.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans, manages and documents the operational record drawings for the WTP.
- Supervises, schedules, assigns and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
- Works with consultants who provide engineering drawings for Division assets.
- Acts as a liaison between staff and Engineering Services professionals to assist in evaluating consultant design submittals for capital projects.
- Prepares and develops record drawing procedures, guidelines, standards and best practises.
- Conducts quality control reviews of all drawing submissions and ensures necessary modifications and revisions take place.
- Undertakes Geographical Information System (GIS) research towards linking record drawings to the physical asset.
- Provides design services and subject matter expertise for in-house project delivery.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized two-year post-secondary drafting technology program.
- Six years' progressively responsible related experience in a municipal environment.
- Eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T) with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Thorough knowledge of AutoCad applications and 3D technology that will be utilized in drawing development of mechanical and electrical design.
- Knowledge of engineering drafting terminology, practises, techniques and software.
- Knowledge of construction, engineering and survey techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to plan, direct and supervise the work of technical staff and consultants.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and prepare reports, plans and specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Skill in the operation and use of various types of software including computer-aided drafting and design, geographical information systems, databases, word-processing, spreadsheets, Photoshop, and PowerPoint.

Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.
Additional Requirements
Weekly Hours: 38.75
Salary Range: $70,539.84 to $82,895.52 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
