We are looking for an Senior Designer who is highly professional and focused for their<strong>Milton</strong>location.</p><p><br /></p><p>The Designer reports directly to the Director of Engineering and works closely with the President. We are looking for someone who has experience in working with sheet metal. This is a great opportunity to focus on the creation of airport equipment. Specifically focusing on the sheet metal design.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><strong>ADVANTAGES</strong></p><ul><li>Great salary of $80-$90k</li><li>Permanent position in Milton</li><li>Opportunity for advancement and career growth</li><li>Fantastic team of people that you get to work with</li><li>Great benefits- medical, vision, and dental</li><li>Very clean and organized manufacturing plant- a very high-tech company</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Lead the end-to-end design process for custom ground support equipment, from concept through production.</li><li>Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.</li><li>Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), product documentation, and manufacturing instructions.</li><li>Ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.</li><li>Champion innovation and technology advancement, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.</li><li>Manage CAD material databases and templates.</li><li>Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies to validate design projects and prepare reports as necessary.</li><li>Collaborate closely with project management and sales teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into design solutions.</li><li>Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and key deliverables.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>SKILLS/ABILITIES: </strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and product development</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement</li><li>Ability to build consensus and obtain organizational alignment for initiatives</li><li>Ability to listen and communicate concisely and effectively</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams</li><li>Proficient in using relevant software and tools for project management and data analysis</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities</li><li>Knowledge of aviation industry regulations and standards is a plus</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent knowledge, training, and experience.</li><li>5-7 years of work experience with a strong focus on sheet metal part, sub-assembly, and assembly design.</li><li>Advanced skill in SolidWorks CAD and PDM, with a portfolio demonstrating 3D modeling capability.</li><li><span >Engineering/Engineering</span> Technologist degree preferred.</li><li>CAD training programs/Diploma.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and team-oriented approach.</li><li>Highly motivated, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>#INDSTRIVEON</p><p>#LI-SR</p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
