<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>We are looking for a <strong>Senior Backend Engineer</strong> for our client in <strong>downtown Vancouver.</strong> This is a permanent full-time position working at an national company with a range of products from <span >telecommunications,</span> health, safety and others. This position is remote to start during Covid, then it will be 3 days remote and 2 days in the office.</p><p><strong>You will</strong>:</p><ul><li>Develop scalable RESTful services</li><li>Managing large scale AWS based infrastructure</li><li>Developing code that is unit, integration and end to end tested</li><li>Designing and developing scalable systems</li><li>Working collaboratively with a team of developers</li><li>Assist in mentoring junior developers</li><li>Assist in mentoring junior developers</li><li>Provide clear and timely communication to the team lead and the rest of the project team</li><li>Learn new technologies in order to keep up with current trends or as required by new projects</li></ul><p><strong>You Have</strong>:</p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>AWS infrastructure management</strong></li><li>Proven <strong>5+ years of experience in designing scalable systems (APIs)</strong></li><li>Strong understanding of testing</li><li>Experience with backend and API development (<strong>Node.js</strong>)</li><li>Understanding of unit testing (<strong>Jest/Enzyme/React Testing Library </strong>preferred)</li><li>Familiar with end to end testing (<strong>Cypress.io</strong> preferred)</li><li>Familiar with build pipeline and Continuous Integration</li><li>Experience with Docker </li><li>Fluent in English and excellent communication skills </li></ul></p></p>
