In this role, you will maintain a safe and welcoming environment through active surveillance, routine patrols, incident prevention, and rapid response to security concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor premises continuously using CCTV systems and other surveillance tools to identify suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security breaches.
• Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of the site, including entrances, exits, parking areas, and sensitive zones, to deter unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
• Control access by verifying identities and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors according to established site protocols.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies by assessing situations accurately, taking appropriate action, and coordinating with supervisors, law enforcement, and/or emergency services when required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete incident reports detailing observations, actions taken, and outcomes.- Support loss prevention efforts by identifying risks and taking proactive steps to prevent theft, property damage, or policy violations.
• Provide customer service by offering clear directions, assisting visitors professionally, and maintaining a calm presence.- Use conflict management and de-escalation techniques to handle tense situations safely and respectfully.
• Administer basic first aid/CPR when needed (as trained) and follow emergency procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in security, loss prevention, or law enforcement is an asset.
• Comfortable working with CCTV and surveillance technology; strong attention to detail is essential.
• Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during incidents.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills (clear, accurate, and professional documentation).
• Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, protocols, and company policies consistently.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred; willingness to obtain is required if not currently certified.
• Military, law enforcement, or similar protective services background is considered an advantage.
• Own vehicle is preferred as some sites and shifts may require travel between locations or limited access to public transit.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by site schedules.
• Must be able to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
