<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Commissionaires BC is looking for dedicated and reliable Security Guards to join our team working with Trans Mountain Kamloops.<br /><b>Shift times:</b><ul><li>4 on 4 off, 5:45am till 5:45pm AND 5:45pm till 5:45am</li></ul><b>Payrate: </b>from $21/hr<br><br><b>Your “must haves”:</b><ul><li>Valid BC Security Licence</li><li>Basic First Aid Certificate</li><li>Successfully be able to complete various site required training</li><li>Be comfortable using 2 way radios</li><li>Superior customer service and communications skills</li><li>High level of attention to detail and dress and deportment</li><li>Able to sit and walk for long periods of time, including walking over uneven terrain </li><li>Comfortable and confident using computers </li></ul><br /><b>Key Responsibilities:</b><br /><b>Access Control</b><ul><li>Screen personnel attempting to access the site based on post orders</li><li>Operate access doors and gates</li><li>Provide visitor escorts when required</li><li>Use SPLAN visitor access system and electronic access cards</li></ul><b>Patrolling</b><ul><li>Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, including remote locations</li><li>Assess site conditions (terrain, weather, lighting) to determine best security posture</li><li>Maintain high visibility in uniform and marked vehicle</li><li>Drive safely on varied road conditions (gravel, snow, ice, mud)</li></ul><b>Security & Incident Response</b><ul><li>Observe and report suspicious activity, incidents, and interactions</li><li>Act as a visible deterrent to criminal activity and policy violations</li><li>Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances</li><li>Detect and mitigate trespassing on Trans Mountain sites</li></ul><b>Reporting & Documentation</b><ul><li>Complete Security Shift Reports and Incident Reports</li><li>Record and document evidence as required</li><li>Communicate incidents to Trans Mountain management and authorities</li></ul><b>Technology & Communication</b><ul><li>Use radios, base station radios, and mobile phones</li><li>Operate Telaris handheld card reader and other site-specific tech</li><li>Send and receive emails and reports using provided devices</li></ul><b>What’s in it for you?</b><ul><li>Opportunity to work with a long standing Canadian not for profit security company </li><li>Gain valuable experience as a stepping stone into a law enforcement career</li><li>Competitive hourly wages and extended health and dental benefits</li><li>Free uniforms</li><li>Training and support to succeed in your role</li></ul><b>Our Story</b><br />Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit <span >security/enforcement</span> organization that has been in business since 1927.
