Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Reporting Automation Specialist to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated reporting pipelines that consolidate data from diverse sources (e.g., Jira, databases, APIs) into actionable, executive-level dashboards and reports using Tableau, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and timeliness.



This is a 12-mon contract opportunity, in hybrid work model - 4 days in downtown client's office location.

Core Responsibilities

The following balances technical execution with strategic alignment, ensuring the role drives efficiency and informed decision-making:
  • Partner with executives, data teams, and IT to define reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Create interactive, visually compelling dashboards tailored for executive audiences.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to align portfolio reporting with business KPIs.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Jira (agile/project metrics), databases, APIs, and other systems.
  • Build and maintain automated workflows (e.g., Python, SQL, or tools like Alteryx) to refresh data pipelines.
  • Optimize queries and calculations for performance and clarity.
  • Leverage Jira's API/REST endpoints to extract project metrics (e.g., sprint velocity, backlog status, issue trends).
  • Implement data governance best practices (e.g., row-level security, data validation).
  • Document processes and provide training for end-users.



Requirements


Required Skill

Technical:
  • Proficiency in Tableau (calculations, parameters, dashboards).
  • Experience with Jira (API, JQL, agile metrics).
  • ETL tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Alteryx) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Basic scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell).

Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication to bridge technical and executive teams.
  • Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
