Job Summary :

The Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough Ontario, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team This is a permanent full-time position for RNs who have cardiology/telemetry or previous stress testing experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing both exercise and pharmacological stress testing in both our stress echo and nuclear stress labs This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and medical staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze and interpret ECGs
  • Assess, and treat patient symptoms (ex: chest pain, BP changes)
  • Performance of exercise, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing
  • Completion of preliminary reports for Cardiologist interpretation
  • Experience with IV insertion and IV medication administration an asset
  • Monitor supplies & replenish stock as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Report to the Stress Team Lead, Clinical Coordinator and physicians as required

Qualifications

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses (CNO)
  • Current member of Registered Nurses of Ontario (RNAO)
  • Basic Life Support (CPR); Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of ECG interpretation and arrhythmia interpretation
  • Knowledge of cardiac medications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and properly maintain all equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a busy workload in a high-volume area.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.

KCC is a busy, progressive, fully accredited facility with 8 physicians and 80 clinical and support staff that offers specialized programs in cardiology, vascular and stroke care to a large geographic region.
