The Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency is committed to the recruitment and retention of physicians and health professionals. Recruitment and Retention Consultant will:



  • Contribute to the development of the Agency's strategic and annual operational plans.

  • Identify, develop, implement, evaluate and manage risks related to recruitment and retention strategies, programs, policies and initiatives at the local, national and international levels.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external partners including communities, employers, regulators and educational institutions.

  • Promote the adoption of evidence-based and nationally recognized best practices in recruitment and retention, utilizing change management and continuous improvement principles to support implementation.

  • Provide accurate and specialized information regarding professional licensure requirements, national examinations and assessment pathways to physicians and health professionals.

  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with students, residents, physicians and health professionals to influence their decision to live and work.

  • Source and attract candidates, including passive candidates, through targeted outreach and engagement strategies.

  • Utilize recruitment software systems to ensure candidate profiles and data analytics are effectively managed to enhance recruitment and retention outcomes.

  • Represent SHRA at events, conferences and recruitment initiatives provincially, nationally and internationally.

  • Support tracking, reporting and performance measurement of recruitment and retention activities.


Extensive local, national and international travel is required. Work hours may be outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends.


Bachelor or master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or Health Sciences.


Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in recruitment, HR, stakeholder relations, or program delivery - preference in healthcare.
