We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support major industrial projects and contribute directly to our continued success. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and leadership to the Project Manager to meet safety, KPI, budget, scope, and schedule objectives.
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring high performance and alignment with VTEK's culture and standards.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, assign, and coordinate all engineering activities in collaboration with Discipline Engineering Managers.
  • Oversee project engineering deliverables and participate in the development of execution plans and resource allocation.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to establish engineering sequences, priorities, and deliverables across phases.
  • Ensure all safety and quality requirements are fully integrated into engineering activities.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and construction teams to ensure efficient and high-quality execution.
  • Review and approve data sheets, drawings, and technical documents submitted by suppliers and contractors.
  • Ensure engineering work packages are complete, coordinated, integrated, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Address client technical needs and ensure clear communication throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures for the Project Engineering & Design Team.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver fully integrated engineering deliverables.
  • Support contract development, bid reviews, and assessments for project procurement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Valid P.Eng designation (or eligible for provincial licensure across Canada).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Engineer in oil & gas or heavy industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of EPCM project environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage priorities, maintain performance under pressure, and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
