Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, in partnership with WSP, is pleased to offer a Tłı̨chǫ community member the opportunity to join a professional consulting environment as a Project Administrator based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

This role is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience supporting project teams working on local and regional initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to project coordination, administrative support, and day-to-day project activities.

This is a fixed-term, full-time position, starting April 6, 2026, and ending April 2, 2027.

Role Objectives


The Project Administrator role is intended to:

  • Provide exposure to a professional consulting and project-based work environment.

  • Build strong administrative and technical skills using Microsoft Office tools, project management systems, and document control processes.

  • Develop an understanding of project coordination roles, responsibilities, and workflows.

  • Support project delivery through scheduling, tracking, reporting, and documentation.

  • Strengthen communication, teamwork, and professional workplace skills.

  • Gain hands-on experience by supporting active projects and participating in real project tasks.

  • Encourage professional growth through mentorship, feedback, and goal setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to project teams
  • Assist with document management, data entry, reporting, and file organization
  • Support project scheduling, tracking, and general coordination activities
  • Communicate with internal team members and support collaboration
  • Assist with preparing reports, meeting materials, and project documentation
  • Support field teams as required, which may include environmental monitoring assistance, data collection, and general site support
  • Develop and enhance time-management, organization, and communication skills

Work will be primarily office-based, with potential opportunities to support field activities depending on project needs. The role will focus largely on consulting services related to mine closure and remediation projects.

Support and Mentorship

  • Assignment of a mentor/supervisor within the partner organization's Yellowknife office
  • Peer support and regular check-ins
  • Exposure to experienced project professionals, scientists, and technical staff
  • Guidance on project administration, consulting practices, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Interest in project administration, project management, environmental work, or technical services
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong willingness to learn and actively participate in professional development opportunities
  • Demonstrated reliability, engagement, and commitment
