Job Description
<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Production Supervisor, Manufacturing – Long Sault, ON</p>
<p>In this role, you will support daily operations, including troubleshooting and increasing operational effectiveness and efficiency of the production unit. You will help ensure the plant provides maximum unit availability in a safe and economical manner by assisting plant personnel, coordinating with Supply Chain and S4H data owners, and helping identify employee development opportunities and participate in operator training and certifications.</p>
<h3>Primary Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Enforce and maintain all safety rules and regulations</li>
<li>Make daily rounds to observe production operations and identify hazards or issues</li>
<li>Supervise production employees and enforce company policies</li>
<li>Prepare and release process orders in accordance with the schedule in S4H</li>
<li>Complete PI sheets & TECO process orders</li>
<li>Maintain SharePoint reports – uptime/downtime, scrap reason codes</li>
<li>Prepare weekly manpower schedule including OT requirements for shift coverage (while on day shift)</li>
<li>Evaluate raw material availability and proactively address potential shortages</li>
<li>Identify productivity and total cost of ownership opportunities to improve site profitability</li>
<li>Leverage continuous improvement tools to eliminate loss, optimize processes, and improve reliability</li>
<li>Manage the department’s materials, machinery, and labor to meet run rate targets</li>
<li>Assess job performance and provide open feedback</li>
<li>Complete granulation process orders and consume WIP</li>
</ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>3-5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or supply chain environments</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (creating formulas, charts, and basic data analysis)</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively with various teams</li>
<li>Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions quickly</li>
<li>Basic understanding of production processes and scheduling concepts</li>
<h3>Ideal Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>5-8 years of experience as an operator in polycarbonate extrusion manufacturing</li>
<li>Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, or related field</li>
<li>Experience with SAP and APO planning modules</li>
<li>Knowledge of make-to-order manufacturing environments</li>
<li>Demonstrated success in improving production efficiency</li>
<li>Experience with cycle counting and inventory management</li>
<li>Ability to analyze data and identify trends for continuous improvement</li>
</ul>
<h3>Work Availability</h3>
<p>Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.</p>
