<p><strong>Principal Cloud Development Engineer</strong></p> <p><strong>100% Remote, Canada</strong><br><strong>Experience:</strong> 8+ Years</p> <p><strong>Role Summary: </strong>NearSource is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Platform Services and Emerging Technologies group focused on Developer Enablement. This role drives initiatives that empower internal and partner developers to build, deploy, and scale high-quality cloud-native applications using enterprise-grade developer tools and frameworks. The selected candidate will work closely with global engineering teams to enhance platform adoption, onboarding, and service reliability across regions.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul><li>Lead efforts to standardize service deployment configurations and accelerate deployment timelines across development teams.</li><li>Collaborate with application teams to onboard them onto internal developer platforms and streamline enablement workflows.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and support for developers utilizing platform services.</li><li>Build, maintain, and optimize developer enablement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.</li><li>Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with partner teams to resolve deployment or infrastructure challenges.</li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials for platform services.</li><li>Collaborate with platform teams to ensure internal tools and systems meet developer and product needs.</li><li>Contribute to cloud-native product development initiatives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.</li><li>Stay informed on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud platform development and automation.</li></ul> <p><strong>Must-Have Skills</strong></p> <ul><li>8+ years of experience managing and deploying solutions within cloud platforms such as AWS.</li><li>Strong background in automation using tools like Jenkins, CloudBees, or Spinnaker.</li><li>Proficient in infrastructure provisioning and automation using Terraform.</li><li>Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.</li><li>Expertise in designing and managing secure, high-performance cloud network architectures (L4/L7).</li><li>Proficiency with Service Mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.</li><li>Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications using Python or Node.js.</li><li>Skilled in automating and optimizing build, deployment, and monitoring workflows.</li><li>Strong collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams.</li><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.</li></ul> <p><strong>Nice-to-Have Skills</strong></p> <ul><li>Familiarity with Helm for deployments.</li><li>Experience with distributed tracing and observability tools.</li><li>Knowledge of multi-region cloud infrastructure management.</li><li>Exposure to developer relations or enablement-focused initiatives.</li><li>Experience contributing to enterprise developer platform strategies or communities.</li></ul> <p><strong>Apply now,</strong> or share your resume with salary expectations at <strong>careers@nearsource.ca</strong>.
