The Nova Scotia College of Nursing is seeking the services of a Practice Consultant for a 12 month term to join our dynamic team and contribute to our organization's vision, mission and strategic plan.
The Practice Consultant:
• provides individual and group consultation and education services to nurses and stakeholders;
• analyzes evolving trends and developments in nursing and the health system;
• gathers, interprets and uses best evidence to develop, implement and evaluate policy,
• develops documents tools, programs, guidelines or recommendations to provide guidance and support for professional nursing practice;
• utilizes project and change management methods to develop resources that support quality and effective nursing practice;
• builds strong networks within the profession and linkages across the health sector to support the practice of nursing in the public interest
• contributes to the achievements of the Standards and Guidance and Customer Experience Team to meet NSCN's Purpose, Mission, Vision and Values.
Education and Licensure Requirements:
• Undergraduate (degree required) Master's in Nursing or Education is preferred.
• Our Standards and Guidance team is comprised of a combination of LPNs and RNs. This contract position is for a candidate that holds either LPN, RN, RPN or NP nursing license in good standing or is eligible to register with NSCN.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in teams.
• Experience managing a high workload in a fast-paced environment
• Is both trauma informed and culturally sensitive in their approach
• Superior analytical and writing skills
• Project management skills .
• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills.
• Technical proficiency in the use of computers and programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the health system.
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Work independently with little supervision
• Air and car travel may be required. The successful candidate must hold a current Nova Scotia driver's license and can operate a motor vehicle.
