Our dedicated team is hardworking, personable, and passionate about safety and delivering quality results.</p><p><span >www.mainlandgroup.ca</span><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>The Opportunity<br /></p><p>ThePipelayerwill be responsible for the efficient installation of a variety of pipes and fittings related to civil construction including water, sanitary sewer, hydro and storm water collection systems.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings</li><li>Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure pipe is aligned, positioned, and installed in accordance with project specifications</li><li>Support the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systems</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support</li><li>Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support</li><li>Train other employees and maintain quality results of work</li><li>Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Qualifications, Experience & Skillset</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Experience in civil utilities including storm, sanitary sewer, water, and hydro</li><li>Experience using pipe and rotary lasers</li><li>Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications</li><li>Working knowledge of pipe grading, survey, and evaluations</li><li>Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in civil projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise</li><li>First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset</li><li>Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals</li><li>Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather</li><li>Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed</li><li>Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li>Unionized base wage of $42.56/hour (wage subject to negotiation based on candidate's experience), plus 12.5% of gross earnings for vacation / statutory holidays.</li><li>Union wages and benefits </li><li>Training and developmental opportunities</li><li>Strong emphasis on safety</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>To apply:go <span >towww.mainlandgroup.ca/careers</span><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Please, no unsolicited resumes or phone inquiries from agencies, thank you.
