Job Description

We are seeking a Picture Framer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality craftsmanship. In this role, you will work with a variety of materials, including canvas, paper, and glass, to create stunning, custom-made picture frames.

Picture Framer Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Measure and cut mat board, foam board, and other materials to size.
  • Assemble custom frames using a variety of techniques and materials.
  • Fit artwork and glass into frames, ensuring a tight and secure fit.
  • Mount artwork onto mat board and foam board using proper techniques.
  • Inspect finished frames to ensure they meet high-quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Cutting and fixing moulding, mounts and glass.
  • Safely use hand and machine tools, computerised mount cutter, pneumatic under pinner, Casesse mitre saw (training will be given).
  • Follow company procedures for handling and storing artwork and finished jobs.


Picture Framer Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Minimum of one year's professional experience of cutting, assembling and finishing frames.
  • Knowledge of framing techniques for artwork.
  • Experience as a Picture Framer.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of different framing techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials, including large pieces of artwork.
