Picture Framer
Job Description
We are seeking a Picture Framer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality craftsmanship. In this role, you will work with a variety of materials, including canvas, paper, and glass, to create stunning, custom-made picture frames.Picture Framer Responsibilities and Duties:
- Measure and cut mat board, foam board, and other materials to size.
- Assemble custom frames using a variety of techniques and materials.
- Fit artwork and glass into frames, ensuring a tight and secure fit.
- Mount artwork onto mat board and foam board using proper techniques.
- Inspect finished frames to ensure they meet high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Cutting and fixing moulding, mounts and glass.
- Safely use hand and machine tools, computerised mount cutter, pneumatic under pinner, Casesse mitre saw (training will be given).
- Follow company procedures for handling and storing artwork and finished jobs.
Picture Framer Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Minimum of one year's professional experience of cutting, assembling and finishing frames.
- Knowledge of framing techniques for artwork.
- Experience as a Picture Framer.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of different framing techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, including large pieces of artwork.
