Your Responsibilities
- You’ll respond to pension-related inquiries from plan members, providing clear, accurate, and timely guidance.
- In this role, you’ll perform benefit calculations for retirements, terminations, past service purchases, and complex scenarios like commuted values and marriage breakdowns.
- You’ll maintain and update pension records in the administration system, ensuring accurate data for payroll and regulatory reporting.
- You’ll assist with year-end filings, CRA reporting, and preparation of annual statements, supporting smooth operations and compliance.
- You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to resolve issues and improve the member experience.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in defined benefit pension administration.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian pension legislation, DB plan structures, and commuted value processes.
- Excellent Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing sensitive and confidential information.
- CEB, CEBS, or PPAC certification (or working toward) is an asset.
- Experience with third-party pension providers and pension administration systems like PABAS is preferred.
