Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Working at heights

Discover Impactful work:

Participate in Packaging Equipment maintenance. Maintain a functional supply of replacement parts. Maintain packaging and processing equipment in good operating condition. Provide technical support relating to development of tooling and equipment. Complies with government regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.) Assists on-the-job training of new or unfamiliar associates. Complete PMs, installs equipment and performs emergency repairs.

Weekend Shift Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Saturday 7 AM - 7:30 PM.

Day in the Life:

Responsible for maintenance and repair of process/packaging equipment on a timely basis.
Develop, fabricate and re-build parts to improve operation of equipment and product quality.
Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns by evaluating problems, determines best course of action and ensures rapid implementation to minimize production downtime.
Make suggestions and assists in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that maximize overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
Train line Set-up Operators/Operators. Assists packaging line staff with troubleshooting. Maintains line and other documentation as necessary. Participate in the selection of new production and plant equipment as required.
Evaluate and recommend replacement parts. Acts as Fire Warden.
Maintain a safe working environment and reports potential hazards.
Perform alternating or rotating shift work including weekend shifts as well as requirements to work during maintenance shutdowns.

Keys to Success:

Education:

High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required College Certificate/Degree in Industrial Millwright

Certified Ontario Trades Person

Licensed to practice as Industrial Millwright 433A is required

Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience with packaging equipment setup/troubleshooting in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Solid background dealing with liquid/tube/tablet fillers, labelers, cartoners and overwrappers. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulations. Attention to detail and quality of work. Good working knowledge of electronics and pneumatics is desirable. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour. Use of Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.

Compensation

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Canada is $56,400.00–$84,600.00.
