Operations Manager
Location: Mississauga, ON (On-site)
Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 base salary
Our client is a national leader in technical field services, specializing in service, installation, maintenance, and large-scale project support. As they continue to expand their field operations and enhance service excellence across Canada, they are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations from their Mississauga head office.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who excels at building strong teams, optimizing workflows, and driving performance in a fast-paced technical service environment. You will work closely with field supervisors, technicians, warehouse, finance, and senior leadership to ensure operational efficiency, service quality, and strong customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
• Lead day-to-day service, installation, and preventive maintenance operations across field teams.
• Provide strong leadership, coaching, and direction to Field Supervisors, Master Electricians, and technicians.
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment built on collaboration and open communication.
• Ensure all field work is completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to support technicians, assess service quality, and join sales on technical walk-throughs when required.
• Participate in regular operational meetings and maintain consistent communication across departments.
Process & Systems Optimization
• Develop and implement standardized operating procedures to improve scheduling accuracy, inventory tracking, and workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with warehouse and finance teams to improve material coding, inventory accuracy, and work order documentation.
• Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhance service delivery.
• Anticipate operational challenges and align day-to-day activity with long-term business objectives.
Team Management & Development
• Conduct regular field audits to ensure safety compliance, efficiency, and adherence to work procedures.
• Manage escalations and provide guidance to support timely resolution.
• Lead the Junior Technician Training Program and support ongoing field staff development.
• Oversee ADP timecard accuracy, attendance tracking, and time management for proper billing.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management to build a high-performing field team.
Customer & Subcontractor Coordination
• Serve as an escalation point for customer issues related to scheduling, job quality, or delays.
• Manage subcontractor partnerships and ensure work meets service level expectations.
• Review work in progress (WIP) daily, including escalation boards, and ensure Field Service Supervisors have actioned tasks appropriately.
• Collaborate with estimating and service coordinators to ensure accurate planning and efficient scheduling.
• Oversee fleet management and ensure compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (required)
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in field service operations or a technical service industry (required)
• Proven experience leading field teams and improving operational processes
• Strong analytical and process-driven mindset, with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements
• Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with KPI management, fleet oversight, and customer service standards
• Strong organizational ability with a proactive, hands-on approach to operations
