ob Title: Network Cabling Technician<BR><BR>Location: Insert Location <BR>Reports To: Project Manager / Lead Technician<BR><BR>Job Summary:<BR><BR>The Network Cabling Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems that support data, voice, and video networks. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and industry standards.<BR><BR>Key Responsibilities:<BR><BR>Install, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling in commercial and industrial environments.<BR><BR>Terminate network cables on patch panels, jacks, and network equipment.<BR><BR>Perform cable testing, labeling, and documentation according to project standards.<BR><BR>Mount racks, patch panels, and network enclosures.<BR><BR>Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and network diagrams.<BR><BR>Identify, troubleshoot, and repair cabling issues.<BR><BR>Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites.<BR><BR>Ensure all work meets applicable building codes and safety standards.<BR><BR>Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and clients.<BR><BR>Provide feedback and recommendations for system improvements.<BR><BR>Qualifications:<BR><BR>Minimum 1 2 years of experience in structured cabling or network installation.<BR><BR>Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards.<BR><BR>Experience with copper and/or fiber optic cable installation and testing.<BR><BR>Proficiency using cable testers, tone generators, and termination tools.<BR><BR>Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.<BR><BR>Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces.<BR><BR>Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.<BR><BR>Preferred Qualifications:<BR><BR>Experience with CCTV, access control, or AV systems.<BR><BR>Familiarity with network hardware such as switches and NVRs.<BR><BR>Compensation:<BR><BR>Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience, with opportunities for overtime and advancement.
