This is your chance to work on cutting-edge systems, travel internationally, and contribute to ongoing R&D and field innovation in a highly specialized field.</p><p><hr /></p><p><strong>About The Role</strong></p><p>You’ll be based from a home office in the <strong>Greater Toronto Area (GTA)</strong>, working under a flexible schedule that includes travel to oil refineries around the world. Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Performing on-site inspections of delayed coke drums using CIA’s proprietary equipment and methods</li><li>Analyzing and interpreting inspection data, preparing high-quality technical reports for client delivery</li><li>Supporting R&D and system development: assist with equipment design, testing, assembly, and troubleshooting</li><li>Participating in ongoing operational support, logistics, and company-wide initiatives</li><li>Balancing fieldwork with hands-on involvement in engineering projects and daily operations</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><p>We’re seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about applied engineering in the real world. </p><p><strong>Qualifications & Skills</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Degree in Mechatronics or Technician Diploma in programs like Electromechanical Engineering Technology – Automation or Automation and Robotics</strong></li><li>Alternatively, an <strong>advanced diploma</strong> in a related engineering technology field will be considered</li><li>Strong background in <strong>software, automation, robotics, and electrical systems</strong> (vision, motion control, diagnostics)</li><li><strong>Hands-on skills</strong>: mechanical assembly, machining, power tools, heavy equipment operation, field maintenance</li><li>Excellent <strong>project and time management</strong> abilities</li><li>Fluent in <strong>written and spoken English</strong> with strong presentation skills</li><li>Must be <strong>available to travel 30–40%</strong>, with durations of 1–2 weeks (including back-to-back trips if needed)</li><li>Comfortable with <strong>irregular hours</strong>, fast-paced field environments, and last-minute schedule changes</li><li>A <strong>proactive, quick-thinking problem solver</strong> with a positive team-focused attitude</li></ul><p><strong>Valuable Bonus Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>laser optics, HD digital visual systems, or robotics</strong></li><li>Knowledge of <strong>industrial safety protocols</strong> (Confined Space, Fall Protection, CPR, etc.)</li><li>Prior field experience in <strong>oil refining or NDE</strong> environments</li><li>Certifications in <strong>NDE, inspection, rope access</strong>, or similar field service roles</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Legally eligible to work in <strong>Canada</strong></li><li>Valid <strong>Canadian driver’s license</strong> and <strong>passport</strong> (no travel restrictions)</li><li>Willing to participate in <strong>random drug and alcohol testing</strong></li><li>Active participation in <strong>health and safety training programs</strong></li><li>Physically fit and comfortable working in <strong>industrial settings</strong>, heights, confined spaces, shift work, and while wearing full PPE</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Competitive compensation</strong> package based on experience and performance, with annual bonus potential</li><li><strong>Flexible work structure</strong> and <strong>home-office support</strong></li><li><strong>Comprehensive benefits</strong> including:</li><ul><li>Extended Health & Dental</li><li>Life, Accident, and Critical Illness Insurance</li></ul><li>Opportunities for <strong>international travel</strong> and professional development</li><li>A dynamic, supportive environment where <strong>innovation and autonomy are encouraged</strong></li></ul><p></p><p>CIA Inspection Inc. is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible workplace.
