Work Setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects
  • Assist in preparing engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Support the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures
  • Perform a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses on machines, components, and materials
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop and modify drawings
  • Design tools, moulds, jigs, and fixtures
  • Prepare and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Estimate materials and project costs
  • Assist in preparing contracts, tenders, standards, and schedules
  • Supervise and monitor maintenance programs and mechanical plant operations
  • Inspect and test machines and mechanical equipment
