If youre driven by innovation, excited by cutting-edge technology, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.</p><p><br><br></p><p>What youll do:</p><ul><li>Design and Development: Contribute to the mechanical design and development of robotic subsystems and components, from concept to production. You'll work on specific parts of larger projects, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle.</li><li>Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes, design and conduct experiments, and collect data to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.</li><li>Product Sustaining & Continuous Improvement: Actively support and enhance existing robotic products by investigating issues, implementing design improvements, and optimizing performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness throughout their lifecycle.</li><li>DFM and Manufacturing Support: Work with senior engineers and vendors to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness. You will also work with Production to integrate practical manufacturing considerations into your designs.</li><li>Documentation: Create clear engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.</li><li>Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams, actively participating in design reviews and contributing to problem-solving discussions.</li><li>Continuous Learning: Embrace opportunities to learn new tools, processes, and engineering principles, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our design workflows.<br /></li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>What were looking for:<br /></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.</li><li>2-4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the robotics or automation industries, or in a related field involving complex electromechanical systems.</li><li>Proficiency in 3D CAD software (On-Shape preferred).</li><li>Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.</li><li>Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding).</li><li>Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.</li><li>Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Good communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>A strong desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced engineering environment.<br><br></li><li>Successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include criminal/civil background checks<br /></li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Bonus points if you have:</p><ul><li>Passion for robotics and a desire to work on cutting-edge technology.</li><li>Understanding of GD&T and its application in mechanical design.</li><li>Experience in designing plastic components.</li><li>Basic understanding of electrical, software, or firmware principles as they relate to mechanical design.</li><li>Experience with FEA, thermal analysis, or other simulations.</li><li>Experience in using Jira & Confluence.</li><li>Familiarity with PLM tools (like Arena PLM).</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Why you'll love working here:</p><ul><li>Work with innovative robotics technology thats shaping the future of autonomous cleaning</li><li>Grow alongside a fast-expanding company with exciting career development opportunities</li><li>Collaborate with a global team and be part of a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive workforce</li><li>Access comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and wellness coverage</li><li>Thrive in a collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions truly matter</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>About Avidbots:</p><p>Avidbots is a leader in autonomous cleaning solutions, transforming the way commercial and industrial spaces maintain cleanliness.
