Project Details:

Based at our project in Central Saskatchewan, this will be 1 week on 1 week off rotation. Working 12 hour days. This is not a camp position, and you will be required to provide your own transportation to and from the site.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanic based at our project in Central Saskatchewan is responsible for overseeing the safety and day-to-day operational requirements of the mechanical department including but not limited to organizing the repair and life-cycle maintenance of equipment on the project.

Duties typically include:

Safety: Ensure all work is being conducted safely according to Procon and Client standards, safe work practices, procedures and safety requirements. Ensure Procon's safety management program is always being adhered to and that mechanics are aware of their requirements therein.

Diagnostics and Repairs: Diagnose complex mechanical issues and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.

Troubleshooting: Provide advice and direction as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.

Investigation: Investigate and determine the root cause of equipment failures as required.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs, which are crucial for tracking the history of the equipment for warranty purposes.

Staying Updated: Keeping up with the latest advancements in technology and techniques within the industry.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience
  • Journeyperson Certification Red Seal required
  • Welding experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working with a variety of crews and adapts well to working with others
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Residents of the Saskatchewan area and candidates identifying as Indigenous are encouraged to apply.

You will be required to work dayshift. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.
