General Summary:


This position provides qualified students with hands-on experience and training in day-to-day operations of a manufacturing engineering group while working collaboratively with the manufacturing engineering team. Job responsibilities and duties reflect the intern’s qualifications and the Manufacturing Engineering department needs.

Project Summary:


This position will focus on a specified project that may include but not limited to; design, efficiency, safety quality, set up reduction, ergonomics, and process improvements in a designated work area through the evaluation of all processes. The maintaining of Rosenboom quality standards and throughput of product will be key factors in implementing and sustaining improvements. This position will operate with the team in the designated work area. Timeline development will be approved by direct supervisor and/or team lead. All internship actions and transactions will be approved by and reported to assigned supervisor and/or team lead. A final summary and report will be required at the close of the internship. Supplementary assignments may be made as need arises and time allows. Additionally, this role will seek to be a positive influence and adhere to all Rosenboom policies.


Expectations:

  • Spend time in production zones to understand the methods of Rosenboom Manufacturing;
  • Work together with Rosenboom teams;
  • Provide a tangible product(s) to be implemented into manufacturing processes;
  • Seek out ways to improve processes from an engineering standpoint;
  • Is a productive member of his/her department and adheres to, promotes and enforces all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures, in order to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees; and,
  • Habits of good attendance and punctuality are an essential responsibility of all Rosenboom internship positions.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Full-time student, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineer or related field from an accredited educational institution;
  • Junior (3rd year) or Senior (4th/5th year) standing;
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in their respective educational program


Competencies:

  • Ability to use computer aided design (CAD) and Microsoft Office tools;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and collaborate with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional and flexible;
  • Demonstrates initiative and a sense of ownership by learning to be self-sufficient and knowing when to ask questions;
  • Willingness to take on challenges and responsibilities and the ability to work through problems and suggest workable solutions;
